South Hampshire Agreement (SHA)

The SHA is a Multi-Area Agreement (MAA) for South Hampshire between PUSH, TfSH, Central Government and its agencies, specifically the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), Job Centre Plus (JCP), Learning and Skill Council (LSC) and Business Link.

It underpins the PUSH Business Plan and sets out a range of agreed targets for delivery by 2010-2011 in areas such as employment, economic development, skills, housing and transport.

It proposes a number of enabling measures (often called freedoms and flexibilities), which provide for new ways of working between the signatories to the agreement. With the SHA in place, PUSH and its key partners will achieve more rapid and certain progress in delivering the PUSH Business Plan and sub-regional strategy. This in turn will support the achievement of objectives and targets in the Regional Economic Strategy and national Public Service Agreements.
