
Aims - This pilot programme will provide a progression path to the existing successful Family Intervention Programme (FIP), it will be known as "FIP +". It uses the Total Place concept to target families and requires strategic alignment of funding from central Government departments and local agencies reducing their dependency on public sector services and notionally ring fence those savings.
Project Description - Family Intervention Projects (FIPs) work with the most challenging and vulnerable families in our communities. The project delivers a multi-agency support package, led by a key worker, which addresses the needs of the whole family. Both Portsmouth and Southampton are running successful FIPs. because other more significant issues that needed to be overcome.
Aims - To provide a high quality, customer focussed and marketing service that will attract business investment from the UK and overseas into South Hampshire and significantly contribute to PUSH’s economic growth targets.
Project Description - To oversee the development and delivery of a high quality and proactive customer focussed Inward Investment service to attract business investment from the UK and overseas into South Hampshire, in line with PUSH’s economic growth objectives.
Aims - To increase the sectoral performance of the Low Carbon industry as a contributor to the South Hampshire economy. Environment Technology has been identified as a potential growth sector for South Hampshire providing high GVA.
Project Description - Funding to support the implementation of Low Carbon Economic Area proposal for the development and growth of the sector.
Aims - To improve the links, interaction and understanding across South Hampshire between the business community and our local schools to provide students with further opportunities to gain first hand experience of business entrepreneurship by working with real business practitioners.
Project Description - PUSH AHEAD 2010-11 will be launched in September and will include a Master Class where students can learn valuable information from entrepreneurs and experts which will help them in fulfilling the challenge. Last year’s challenge was held at NATS (National Air Traffic Services) in Swanwick, a place not open to the public and therefore a unique opportunity for students to see behind the scenes and gather an understanding of how the Air Traffic Services work and manage the air space.
The first stage involves a written submission of a business plan, product description, technical specification and user manual due in February 2011 which will be reviewed by a judging panel and scores will be added to the scores at the Grand Final Trade Show.
The second stage is the Grand Final Trade Show event to be held in April 2011 where teams will set up stands to showcase their ideas and present to judges in a “Dragons Den” format. The judges’ scores from the Trade Show and written submissions will be added together and a winner will be announced at the end of the event. The winning team will receive £500 and a trophy. There will be special awards and all students will receive certificates.
The winning team will also have the opportunity to exhibit their product at the Collaborate 2 Innovate event, another PUSH project, currently planned for October 2011.
Aims - To create a Solent wide knowledge economy event that will drive business growth through collaboration and innovation
Project Description - The next Collaborate 2 Innovate event will be held in Portsmouth on 2nd November 2010 and build on the experience of previous events. Collaborate 2 Innovate is an innovation and collaboration conference that enables individuals and organisations to meet and discuss the knowledge economy and collaborative ventures.
Visitors will benefit from meeting with like-minded individuals and organisations, receive advice and guidance on business issues pertinent to the commercialisation of innovations and gain real knowledge from attendance at a range of seminars to be held across the day.
