Emerging Policy
The government is currently working on a series of planning reforms that will impact the Nutrient Neutrality policy as it currently functions. Details can be viewed below.
- 2024 King’s Speech Background Briefing – Planning and Infrastructure Bill – summarises the Planning and Infrastructure Bill that will be coming forward in 2025.
- Planning Reform Working Paper: Development and Nature Recovery – GOV.UK – proposes a new system for developers to mitigate their developments impact on the environment with a outcomes-focused approach to impact assessments and nature recovery. The Planning and Infrastructure Bill would provide the legislative underpinning for this system.
